Location
Ystradowen is a thriving village with an active social life. Church Farm is situated opposite St. Owains Church. The present church was built in 1867 to replace once that had existed since the 13th century. It has a 17th century bell that was one of the first cast at Chepstow's bell factory. From Church Farm there is a kissing gate leading to Druids Grove and from here there are endless footpaths and bridle ways linking the neighbouring villages through the fields. Just across from the kissing gate is the astro turf and a nature area which is safe for smaller children, and attracts lots of wildlife and has many wild flowers. This is just behind Ystradowens Village hall which has just had a grant to add an extension onto.
